This optical smoke detector provides an early fire warning, particularly in case of materials that smoulder slowly. The detector will resist dust, insects, high fugtighed og high air velocity. The optical analysis is based on the spreading pattern of smoke og on the infrared light beam emitted by a LED, which is analysed by a photodiode. The analysis chamber is protected by a stainless steel housing og a labyrinth designed til enable the smoke til penetrate the detector while eliminating the influence of external light.
